Tescom wins €10m Contract in France

Tescom Software Systems Testing has won a €10 million project over the next three years to improve customer services of Direction Generale des Impots, the tax and inland revenue department of the French Ministry of Economy, Finance & Industry. Tescom is the prime contractor in the project, and has brought in EDS, France as a subcontractor to project manage and use Tescom's methodology in carry out testing services in certain parts of France. The contract will be carried out from 2006-2008. Tescom will carry out testing to improve customer services as well as to change internal rules and processes within the ministries. The project will include the organisation, preparation and implementation of test projects of any size, global automation testing processes, preparation and executive of tests loads, realisation of audits and scoping studies, training and knowledge transfer towards the teams of the Direction Generale des Impots. The DGI is responsible for all activities concerning households, businesses' and local government's taxes. The department has 80,000 employees throughout France. Tescom said this was a key project in the modernisation of the French public sector. In order to guarantee the quality of the developed applications, the DGI has introduced a new process, where a company, independent from the editors and the systems integrators, is responsible for the preparation and carrying out of all software testing. Tescom CEO Ofer Albeck said, "For us this is a major project in France and clearly underlines Tescom's leadership in the area, and ideally positions the company to thrive in other public sector projects in France as well as throughout Europe." Francis Meston, Head of EDS in France, said, "EDS has worked with Tescom in different countries and look forward to working with them in many more." |
